Kansas Woman Convicted of Murdering Husband on Fort Riley

FORT RILEY, KS — Margaret Shafe, 31, of Kansas, was convicted on Friday of second-degree murder for the shooting death of her husband, Greg Shafe, a U.S. Army soldier, in their home on Fort Riley in February 2024.

The federal jury found Shafe guilty after deliberations. The shooting occurred inside their residence on the military base, and the jury determined Shafe was responsible for her husband’s death.
