Kanpur Dehat Murder: Woman and Her Brother-in-Law Arrested for Killing 20-Year-Old

Three individuals, including a woman and her brother-in-law, were arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old youth, Vikas, whose body was discovered with stab wounds on January 23 in Rohini Shyamgarh village, Kanpur Dehat district.

The Superintendent of Police, BP BBGTS Murthy, confirmed that Neeraj Devi, her brother-in-law Sarvesh Kumar, and Shivam alias Kallu were arrested following a detailed investigation. Sarvesh and Neeraj were apprehended near Rohini Tiraha, while Shivam was detained outside Sadguru School.

During questioning, Sarvesh revealed a complex love triangle that led to the murder. Sarvesh admitted to having an affair with his sister-in-law, Neeraj, who was also romantically involved with Vikas. Upon discovering the relationship between Neeraj and Vikas, Sarvesh, with the help of his cousin Shivam and Neeraj, conspired to kill Vikas.

The police recovered the murder weapon based on Sarvesh’s confession. Vikas’s body, found on the evening of January 23, had 16 stab wounds. A complaint was filed by Vikas’s father, Ramvilas Rajput, against Neeraj, Sarvesh, Shivam, and others involved in the crime.

Further investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the full extent of the conspiracy.
