A 21-year-old man from Kannur, Kerala, has been arrested for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old woman from Assam at a hotel in Bengaluru. The suspect, identified as Aarav Hanoy, had been on the run since November 26, when the woman’s body was discovered in the hotel room. He was arrested on Friday near the Devanahalli Airport, following an extensive police search.
According to the police investigation, Hanoy initially fled Bengaluru and headed to Uttar Pradesh, where he boarded a train to Varanasi. The authorities were able to track his movements and finally apprehended him after locating him near the airport.
The police believe that the victim, a young woman from Assam, had traveled to Bengaluru, where she and Hanoy had stayed at the hotel. The motive for the murder is still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that they were able to trace his whereabouts through surveillance footage and other investigative methods.
Hanoy is expected to face charges for murder and other related offenses. The police have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death but assured that they were working diligently to piece together the facts.
