Kanai Das and Kishan Kumar Sarkar Arrested with Rs 12 Crore Methamphetamine in Tripura

In a significant drug bust, the Assam Rifles seized a massive quantity of methamphetamine tablets, also known as Yaba tablets, worth Rs 12 crore in West Tripura district. The operation, carried out on Monday night, led to the arrest of Kanai Das (36) and Kishan Kumar Sarkar (32), both residents of the district.

Acting on a secret intelligence report, the Assam Rifles troopers intercepted the two drug peddlers in the Salbagan area and recovered 60,000 Yaba tablets. The tablets, highly addictive and illegal, have a street value of Rs 12 crore.

The seized drugs and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for further investigation and legal proceedings. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Assam Rifles in curbing drug trafficking in the region.
