Former New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, Kadarius Toney, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault due to strangulation and obstructing a 911 call. According to TMZ Sports, an arrest warrant was issued for Toney on January 15, 2025, and he was taken into custody on February 6. His bond was set at $25,000 for each charge.
Toney allegedly choked an unnamed woman, causing her to struggle to breathe, while also preventing her from calling 911 for help by taking her phone away. The woman reportedly sustained visible injuries, including red marks on her neck and hemorrhaging in her eyes.
Toney, 26, who had a brief career with the New York Giants before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs. His time with the Cleveland Browns in 2024 was limited, as he played in only three games. The NFL has not yet commented on the situation, but a full investigation into both the police and league matters is expected.
Given the severity of the charges and the NFL’s personal conduct policy, Toney is likely to face significant consequences once the investigations conclude.
