Justin Sebastian and Alexander Nyarashe, both 24 and formerly of the L7 area, have been jailed for their involvement in controlling the JJ county line, a high-harm drug operation supplying crack cocaine and heroin to Chester between January and June 2024.
The investigation began when Sebastian was seen fleeing from Merseyside Police officers, discarding two mobile phones in the process. One of the phones was later linked to the JJ graft line into Chester, while the other was used for further drug distribution in the L7 area. Despite being arrested and remanded in custody, Sebastian continued to control the JJ line from prison, directing Nyarashe.
In June 2024, Nyarashe’s mobile device revealed that he was still receiving instructions from Sebastian, who was overseeing the operation from jail. Nyarashe was later arrested at a Liverpool address, where police seized quantities of heroin and crack cocaine.
Sebastian was convicted on multiple drug trafficking charges, including the supply of crack, heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, and was sentenced to nine years in prison. Nyarashe, convicted of two counts related to crack and heroin supply, was jailed for five years.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton emphasized the devastating impact of county lines gangs, particularly their exploitation of vulnerable individuals. He reaffirmed Merseyside Police’s commitment to dismantling such criminal operations through Project Medusa, a Merseyside-led initiative targeting county lines drug dealing and child exploitation across the UK.
