Justin Brandon McCrae Charged with Murder of Bradley Freeman Tucker in West Columbia

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – Authorities have identified the man fatally shot Saturday evening at Riverbend Apartments in West Columbia, as well as the suspect arrested in connection with the crime.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported that the incident occurred near North Lucas Street on Riverbend Drive. Deputies were called to the scene and, shortly after, arrested 26-year-old Justin Brandon McCrae, who has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 24-year-old Bradley Freeman Tucker died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Investigators from the sheriff’s department’s Major Crimes Unit have spoken with neighbors, and crime scene investigators have gathered evidence from the location. McCrae, who is being held without bond, is set to face further legal proceedings.

An autopsy for Tucker was scheduled for December 4 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. The investigation into the shooting continues as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
