Junior Mulubi, 23, from Bedford, has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to his involvement in a cocaine supply network in the area.
Mulubi was arrested by officers from Bedfordshire Police’s Boson guns and gangs unit in July after an investigation linked him to the distribution of cocaine in Bedford. The investigation began when another individual was arrested, and Mulubi’s contact details were found on their phone.
During Mulubi’s arrest, officers discovered drugs paraphernalia and multiple phones, which contained hundreds of messages related to drug transactions. A drugs expert examined the messages and confirmed that Mulubi was involved in substantial drug sales, with discussions about bulk cocaine sales and drug slang such as “grub” and “shoots.”
At Luton Crown Court last week, Mulubi, of Coventry Street, Bedford, was sentenced to three years in prison. His sentence included two months for a separate affray offence for which he had previously been on a community order.
Detective Constable Adam Geary, the investigating officer, commented, “The drugs trade impacts not just the users but also the suppliers, who bring violence and exploitation into our communities. Mulubi will now serve his time behind bars for his role in this network.”
He added, “We encourage anyone with information about drug trafficking to come forward. The public plays a crucial role in helping us fight these crimes.”
