Julie Yates Arrested on Fraud Charges in Moore County Financial Scam

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — A woman from West End, North Carolina, has been arrested on charges of identity theft and financial card fraud after multiple unauthorized charges were discovered on a personal financial account. The incident was reported to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office on March 19, 2024.

According to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, investigators launched an inquiry into the financial card fraud case after the victim reported suspicious activity involving unauthorized transactions. Following the investigation, 41-year-old Julie Yates was arrested on March 27 and charged with one count of felony identity theft and one count of misdemeanor financial card fraud.

Yates was taken into custody and held at the Moore County Detention Center without bond. She is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on April 25 for her first court appearance.

As with all criminal cases, defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
