Juan Sandoval Arrested After Drug Trafficking Stop in Chocowinity

A traffic stop on US 17 South in Chocowinity led to the arrest of Juan Francisco Sandoval, a 31-year-old man from New Bern, on multiple felony drug charges.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division initiated the stop, but the vehicle continued south before eventually pulling over on Wilmar Road in Craven County. Following the investigation, Sandoval was arrested for trafficking drugs.

Sandoval is facing several serious charges, including two counts of felony trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, and multiple charges related to marijuana and synthetic cannabinoids. Additionally, he faces charges for maintaining a vehicle for drug use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Currently, Sandoval is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $150,000 secured bond. Beaufort County Sheriff Scott Hammonds encourages anyone with information about drug activity or other crimes to contact the sheriff’s office at (252) 946-7111.
