Juan Correa Arrested After Springfield Drug Bust & Police Chase

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Juan Correa, 41, was arrested on Tuesday following a police chase that ended in a drug bust at his Springfield home.

Attempted Escape & Arrest
Springfield Police had been investigating Correa’s suspected drug operation at a residence on Armory Street. As detectives prepared to execute a search warrant, Correa was spotted leaving in a vehicle.

When police attempted a traffic stop on Worthington Street, Correa allegedly:

Drove toward an unmarked police cruiser, nearly causing a head-on crash
Crashed into a city light pole before continuing to flee
Led officers on a slow-speed chase due to a damaged tire
He was finally stopped and arrested near Bay Street and Dawes Street.

Drug & Cash Seizure
Upon executing the search warrant at his Armory Street home, detectives recovered:

100+ bags of crack cocaine (totaling 39.6 grams)
300+ bags of heroin
$6,200 in cash
Charges Against Correa
Correa faces multiple charges, including:

Cocaine Trafficking (36-100 grams)
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug (Heroin) – Subsequent Offense
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (2 counts)
Reckless Operation & Failure to Submit to Police
He remains in custody as authorities continue their investigation.
