A man, identified as Joshua Edwards, was arrested for stealing over $8,700 worth of electronics from Conn’s Home Plus stores in Palm Beach County, Florida. The 30-year-old suspect used a fake ID and posed as a UPS worker to make fraudulent purchases at two locations in Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), Edwards carried out the thefts on June 3 and June 8, purchasing high-end electronics such as MacBook Airs and iPads. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from both stores, which showed Edwards wearing a UPS uniform while making the fraudulent transactions. The Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach store managers provided video stills and receipts that helped authorities link the crime to Edwards.
Through further investigation, law enforcement connected Edwards to the crime via a phone number and vehicle registered to him. A photo lineup was conducted, and store employees identified Edwards as the suspect. Edwards has been charged with grand theft over $5,000 and criminal use of personal identification.
