Joseph Spinks Arrested for Murder of 15-Year-Old in Lauderdale County

Joseph Spinks, 50, has been arrested for the murder of 15-year-old Treyvone Young in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, following a fatal shooting on Christmas Eve. The incident also left two others injured.

Spinks, a resident of Toomsuba, was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on a murder charge. In addition to the murder charge, he now faces two attempted murder charges after two other people were injured in the shooting.

The shooting occurred around 7:10 p.m. in the 9500 block of Northeast Cole Road, where three individuals were shot. Treyvone Young, a Northeast Lauderdale High School student, was killed in the attack. He was just one day shy of his 16th birthday and was involved in football and baseball at his high school.

At this time, details surrounding the motive behind the shooting remain unclear.
