Jose Rodriguez Arrested Near Sioux Center for Drug Possession

SIOUX CENTER, IA — A 23-year-old man from Hawarden, Jose Guillermo Rodriguez, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 29, on multiple drug charges near Sioux Center.

Rodriguez was stopped by law enforcement around 9:35 p.m. for an equipment violation on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 390th Street, about five miles west of Sioux Center. During the stop, deputies detected the odor of marijuana, and Rodriguez admitted to possessing marijuana.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed cannabidiol (CBD) vaping devices and drug paraphernalia. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with first-offense possession of marijuana, first-offense possession of cannabidiol, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rodriguez was taken into custody by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
