Jose Oscar Infante-Reyes Pleads Guilty to Murder After Chase

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Jose Oscar Infante-Reyes has pleaded guilty to murder after a high-speed police chase in Laredo resulted in a deadly crash.

The Webb and Zapata County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Infante-Reyes entered the plea on January 9, 2025, in the 341st District Court.

The case began on August 13, 2022, when a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper attempted to stop a red Ford Expedition with fake temporary tags on McPherson Avenue. Instead of pulling over, Infante-Reyes sped away, leading officers on a dangerous 80-90 mph chase in a 45 mph zone.

Authorities say he collided with a Ford F-150 before crashing head-on into a Chevrolet Tahoe, leaving multiple people injured. One victim later died from her injuries.

Infante-Reyes later admitted to driving under the influence and fleeing police recklessly.

He is set to be sentenced on February 7, 2025.
