Jose Ortiz Arrested for Drug Trafficking After Chase in Tulsa

Tulsa, OK – A man was arrested for drug trafficking Thursday night after fleeing from officers during a traffic stop.

According to the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), officers pulled over a car near 9100 East Newton for a broken headlight. The driver, later identified as 34-year-old Jose Ortiz, jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene. After a brief chase, officers apprehended Ortiz.

Upon searching the car, authorities found 170 grams of fentanyl, 7.5 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia. Ortiz was charged with trafficking fentanyl, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, obstruction, and several traffic violations.

Ortiz is currently being held pending further legal proceedings.
