Jose Murillo-Salgado has been sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the brutal murders of Claudia Nunez and her 14-year-old son, Kevin. The sentencing took place on February 6, following Murillo-Salgado’s conviction in November 2024. He was found guilty of two counts of premeditated first-degree murder and murder in the perpetration of a felony.
The case also involved an aggravated burglary charge, as Murillo-Salgado had broken into the Nunez family’s home before committing the murders. In addition to the life sentences, he was handed an additional 12-year sentence for the burglary.
The conviction and sentencing bring a measure of justice to the victims’ family and the community, as Murillo-Salgado will spend the rest of his life behind bars for his heinous crimes.
