Jose Mota Arrested Again for Drug Trafficking in Auburn

AUBURN, Maine (WGME) — A man already out on bail for drug trafficking in Maine was arrested again on similar charges after police found crack cocaine during a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Jose Mota, 39, of Auburn was first arrested in October for drug trafficking and firearms charges. He was released on bail but was soon targeted in a new investigation. Authorities received a tip on Wednesday that Mota was headed for a drug deal.

Police stopped Mota’s vehicle on Mount Auburn Avenue in Auburn. After conducting a search, officers discovered 37.2 grams of crack cocaine.

Mota was arrested and now faces aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and a violation of conditions of release. He is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail without bail.
