SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A man wanted in connection to a fatal homicide in Washington State was arrested in Utah County on Monday.
Jose Antonio Cedeno-Ponce, 20, is accused of driving to Tukwila, Washington, on January 10, with the intent to fight high school students. Armed with a knife, Cedeno-Ponce fatally struck a victim during the altercation. After the fight, he fled the state and abandoned his vehicle in Idaho.
The FBI Safe Streets Violent Crime Task Force, along with the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force and Orem Police Department, tracked Cedeno-Ponce to a business in Utah County. He was arrested without incident and is currently being held at the Utah County Jail. Authorities will transport him back to Washington to face charges.
Cedeno-Ponce has been charged with second-degree murder in the Superior Court of Washington for King County.
