THEALKA, Ky. — A Johnson County woman, Samantha Fyffe-Jarrell, 35, of Hager Hill, was arrested following a drug trafficking investigation conducted by Kentucky State Police. Officers with the Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit acted on a tip about meth trafficking at a house on Boyd Branch.

During a “knock-and-talk” attempt to speak with the residents, no one answered the door. However, as the officers prepared to leave, they saw two cars pull up, one of which was driven by Fyffe-Jarrell. She was identified as one of the suspects involved in the reported drug activity.

When questioned, Fyffe-Jarrell admitted to having drugs in the car and produced 33 grams of meth from her purse. She claimed she had bought the drugs from a source in Huntington, W.Va., at a Louisa gas station.

A subsequent search revealed 3.5 more grams of meth in her purse. As she was being booked into jail, Fyffe-Jarrell also informed authorities that she had fentanyl hidden in her pants.

Fyffe-Jarrell is now facing charges for meth trafficking, fentanyl trafficking, and promoting contraband. She is currently being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
