John Shamo Arrested in Rooftop Construction Fraud Case

A second arrest has been made in connection with a fraud case involving Rooftop Construction in Henderson, Kentucky. John Shamo was arrested following the earlier arrest of Hanzel Hoag, co-owner of Rooftop Construction.

The case stems from a report by a victim who claimed significant damage to their home after the April 2 tornado caused a tree to crash through their roof. The victim paid over $26,000 for repairs through Rooftop Construction, but was later asked for additional payments to continue the work. However, the victim alleges that only parts of the roof were replaced, old insulation was used where new insulation was needed, and new siding was improperly installed.

Both Shamo and Hoag told authorities they were unaware of any compliance issues and believed their work met the necessary standards. The investigation is ongoing as authorities look further into the case.
