John Rene Perez, Hector Barr, and Miguel Guerrero Arrested in $40K Commercial Burglary

On November 29, 2024, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Agricultural Crime Detectives were called to investigate a commercial burglary at Nutrius in Kingsburg, where thieves made off with over $40,000 worth of tools and equipment on Thanksgiving Day.

According to TCSO, the thieves visited Nutrius multiple times on November 28, with thefts taking place from 4:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Through surveillance video, investigators identified a truck involved in the crime. Following a lead, the vehicle was traced to Reedley, where officers stopped it and detained the driver. Inside the vehicle, about $5,000 worth of stolen tools were recovered.

Detectives continued their investigation and identified two additional suspects captured on surveillance video. The investigation led to a search warrant, which resulted in the discovery of an additional $25,000 worth of stolen equipment and another vehicle containing stolen tools.

The arrested individuals include:

John Rene Perez, 31
Hector Barr, 47
Miguel Guerrero, 32
All three suspects, from Reedley, were charged with commercial burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy. Guerrero, already out on bail for a previous grand theft charge, also faces charges for committing another felony. About $30,000 in stolen tools and equipment were returned to Nutrius.
