by Sophia Bennett

On Thursday, State Auditor Shad White announced the arrest of John Jackson, the owner of JPA, Inc., for allegedly submitting fraudulent invoices to the City of Tutwiler. The invoices, amounting to $155,039.15, were for landscape architecture services that Jackson did not provide. If convicted, he faces a potential five-year prison sentence and a fine of $10,000. The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor emphasizes the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.
