John Chisholm, 28, of West End, was arrested on February 18, 2025, after a joint investigation between the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina SBI Cyber Crimes Unit. The investigation was prompted by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Forensic specialists executed a search warrant at Chisholm’s residence in the 4800 block of Beulah Hill Church Road in West End. Following the search, Chisholm was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Chisholm was taken into custody and transported to the Moore County Detention Center, where he is being held under a $50,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 13, 2025, in Moore County District Court.
Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields emphasized the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to protecting children from online exploitation, stating, “The Moore County Sheriff’s Office remains an active participant in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Taskforce, working diligently alongside state and federal partners to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.”
