John Alexander Charged with Over 400 Counts in Gas Card Theft Scheme

LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA — John Alexander, 43, of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, is facing more than 400 felony charges after a gas card theft scheme was uncovered by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Alexander allegedly stole a fuel card from a former employer and used it to fill multiple vehicles hundreds of times, resulting in numerous unauthorized transactions. Each transaction is treated as a separate felony under Louisiana law, potentially carrying up to 10 years in prison and fines.

The extensive investigation into Alexander’s actions has led to his arrest on numerous counts of identity theft and unauthorized use of the fuel card.
