In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested Subhash Bishnoi, a 24-year-old man from Jodhpur, for allegedly defrauding a 34-year-old engineer from Delhi’s Usmanpur of nearly Rs12 lakh. Bishnoi is accused of luring the victim into investing large sums of money in cryptocurrency and the stock market through online platforms, promising high returns.
Bishnoi, an alumnus of Jodhpur University, used deceptive tactics to convince the engineer to make several online transactions, which ultimately led to a substantial financial loss. The police recovered multiple items from the accused, including three mobile phones, five SIM cards, 16 debit and credit cards, and two cheque books, indicating the scale of his fraudulent activities.
The scam involved Bishnoi convincing the victim that investing in cryptocurrency and stock market platforms would yield lucrative returns. After gaining the victim’s trust, he instructed them to transfer money to different accounts, only for the funds to vanish without any trace of the promised returns.
The police are continuing their investigation, hoping to uncover any other victims and networks connected to this scam. Bishnoi is currently in police custody, facing charges of fraud and financial misappropriation.
