Job Scam Exposed: Two Arrested for Fraud in Badarpur

Despite ongoing efforts in Assam to tackle unemployment, jobless youths continue to fall prey to “cash for job” scams. In a recent development, the Karimganj police arrested two individuals accused of embezzling funds by falsely promising government jobs in Badarpur.

The arrested suspects, Abdul Samad Barbhuiya, a teacher from Sonai, and Akhtar Hussain Majumdar from Hailakandi, reportedly collected substantial amounts of money from victims by offering them positions as Booth Level Officers (BLO). They managed to swindle over Rs1 lakh through UPI payments from desperate job seekers.

Following a thorough four-month investigation, law enforcement exposed the scam, and authorities anticipate further arrests as the inquiry continues.
