J&K Police Bust Major Heroin Racket, Arrest Two Peddlers

On Wednesday, J&K Police successfully busted a major drug racket, arresting two drug peddlers and recovering a consignment of eight kg of heroin.

According to a police statement, the operation took place in Srinagar district, where officers at the Qamarwari police station set up a checkpost after receiving specific information about a narcotics consignment. At Barthana, a vehicle was stopped for inspection, leading to the discovery of six kg of heroin hidden under the driver’s seat. An additional two kg of heroin was seized from two other individuals in the vehicle.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Anas Ajaz Awan from Dildar Tangdhar, Kupwara, and Zahid Ahmad Sheikh from Channipora, Tangdhar, Kupwara.
