Jharkhand Couple Arrested for Robbery in Vizianagaram; 200g Gold Recovered

The Vizianagaram Police have successfully arrested a couple from Jharkhand, Saroj Sabar (26) and Neha Sabar (21), in connection with a robbery that occurred on December 24, 2024. The couple, who had been traveling the streets selling balloons, were found to have stolen nearly 200 grams of gold ornaments, valued at approximately Rs 3.60 lakh.

The crime was committed when the wife of a tailor, Kottakki Jaganmohanrao, left her house unattended to visit a nearby bangle shop. During her absence, an unidentified woman, later identified as Neha Sabar, entered the house and stole the gold ornaments. The robbery was reported to the One Town Police, and an investigation was launched.

After gathering information and examining previous cases, the police arrested the couple and recovered the stolen property. The couple had been involved in several similar crimes, including breaking into houses.

SP Vakul Jindal urged locals to be cautious of unknown street vendors and advised them not to allow anyone unfamiliar into their homes. The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are continuing to gather details about the couple’s involvement in other criminal activities.

SP K Sowmya Latha also attended the program, reinforcing the importance of vigilance in the community.
