Jesus Enrique Leon Villa Arrested After Drug Discovery in Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKTV) — A man was arrested after a traffic stop on I-70 led to the discovery of illegal drugs in his car, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, a deputy observed a vehicle driving slowly eastbound on the interstate. The deputy then saw the car changing lanes erratically and initiated a traffic stop near mile marker 17.

The driver was identified as 35-year-old Jesus Enrique Leon Villa, a resident of Mexico. Deputies said he was driving without a license and admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered four brick-style packages that field tested positive for cocaine. The packages weighed a total of 5.1 kilograms, with an estimated street value of approximately $152,000.

Leon Villa was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on felony drug charges.
