Jessica Guth Arrested for Theft and Burglary in Posey County

POSEY CO., Ind. (WFIE) – A woman from Evansville has been arrested on burglary and theft charges after an investigation tied her to a break-in at Whackerz, a golf simulation business in Posey County.

Officials say the Posey County Sheriff’s Office discovered broken glass and missing items, including a computer and several sets of golf clubs, from Whackerz on Thursday. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, investigators saw a female suspect breaking a window to gain entry.

The suspect was later identified as 34-year-old Jessica Jeanette Guth. The footage also showed Guth arriving in a black passenger vehicle, which was later traced by make and model.

On Friday, deputies responded to a nearby business where a truck had been broken into. After further investigation, it was believed the theft was connected to the burglary at Whackerz. A traffic stop on State Road 66 led deputies to locate the stolen computer in the trunk of Guth’s vehicle.

Further searches revealed stolen golf clubs at a residence connected to Guth. During questioning, Guth admitted to the burglary and theft.

She was booked into the Posey County Jail, facing charges including Burglary (Level 5 Felony), Theft (Level 6 Felony), Theft (A Misdemeanor), and Trespassing (Class A Misdemeanor).
