WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Jennifer Daddio, 55, of Stratford, was arrested following allegations of fraudulent activity during her tenure as the personnel director for the City of West Haven. The charges stem from Daddio allegedly creating fake educational vouchers and submitting them for reimbursement, despite not attending the classes as claimed.
According to Mayor Dorinda Borer, Daddio submitted documentation indicating she had paid for, passed, and attended courses, but a later investigation revealed that she had never taken the classes. Borer confirmed the fraudulent activity was discovered within a span of just three weeks.
Daddio, who underwent a background check when she was hired, had no previous criminal history that raised red flags, the mayor said.
Daddio faces charges including first-degree larceny, defrauding a public community, and four counts of third-degree forgery. She was arraigned on December 5, 2024.
