Jenkins, Watts, Teen Arrested in Bay Minette Gunpoint Robbery

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — Three suspects, including two men and a teenager, were arrested in connection with a gunpoint robbery that took place during a planned firearm exchange in Bay Minette on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., the Bay Minette Police Department (BMPD) responded to a report of a robbery at the Marathon Gas Station located at 2001 Highway 31 S. Officers learned that the victim had arranged to meet the suspects for a gun trade. After the victim handed over a firearm, the suspects turned hostile, pointing a handgun and an AR-15 rifle at the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim, who had managed to escape unharmed, provided law enforcement with detailed descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. Within minutes, officers located the getaway vehicle traveling north on Highway 31, leading to the eventual arrests of the suspects.

The arrested individuals were identified as Jayden Devon Jenkins, 21, of Monroeville; Forever Michael Watts, 21, of Bay Minette; and a 16-year-old male. During the arrest, officers recovered the stolen firearm, an AR-style handgun, an AR-15 rifle, and a Glock handgun.

The suspects are facing charges of first-degree robbery and are being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility, awaiting bond hearings.

The Bay Minette Police Department continues its investigation into the incident, and residents are encouraged to use designated safe exchange zones for transactions with unfamiliar parties. The safe exchange zone in Bay Minette is located at 320 North Hoyle Ave.
