Fremont Police Investigate Stabbing Incident; Two Arrested

Fremont police are currently investigating a stabbing that took place Friday afternoon.

Officers received a call around 1:30 p.m. regarding an injured individual in the 1200 block of North Park Avenue, who was believed to have been stabbed. The victim was located and promptly transported for medical care by the Fremont Fire Department.

As the investigation unfolded, police located two suspects in the 2200 block of H Street. Following questioning, both individuals were arrested and taken into custody.

Jay Lee Herrera, 23, faces charges including first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and tampering with evidence. Dewayne Johns, 37, also of Fremont, is charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather more details about the incident.
