Jason Eugene Smith Arrested for Identity Theft and Fraud in Kinston

KINSTON, N.C. — Jason Eugene Smith, 41, was arrested Thursday on charges of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense after an investigation led to his capture.

Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies responded to a call at Foss Auto Salvage on Hwy 70 West around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Following their investigation, which revealed key evidence, Smith was arrested.

Smith is currently being held at the Lenoir County Detention Center with a secured bond.
