Kansas City, Mo. – Jason W. Beach, 51, of Elsberry, Missouri, has been charged in connection with a series of thefts at Home Depot stores across multiple states. The charges stem from a theft incident that occurred at a Home Depot location in Kansas City on November 13, 2024.
According to a probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), an off-duty officer was notified of a theft that had occurred two days prior at the 8900 NW Skyview Ave. Home Depot. A store employee reported that Beach had stolen nearly $300 worth of tools. When confronted by store staff, Beach allegedly refused to return the stolen items and was subsequently arrested.
Further investigation revealed that this was not Beach’s first offense. KCPD officials found that Beach had been arrested at a separate Home Depot location on October 31, 2024, for a different theft incident. Beach had also been trespassed from several Home Depot stores across various states, including Oklahoma, Texas, California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Iowa, and Missouri.
Court documents indicate that Beach has a history of theft convictions in Iowa, California, and Texas, with convictions dating back to 2017 and as recent as 2024.
In response to his criminal activities, Beach has been charged with burglary and stealing. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, with a $25,000 bond, along with conditions of no entry to any Home Depot location and GPS monitoring. As of December 29, Beach remains in custody. A court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address organized retail theft and hold repeat offenders accountable. Further details on the case are expected to be released after the court appearance.
