Jasir Arrested After 15 Years for Attempted Murder, Muhammad Faiz Held with 2kg Ganja

In a significant breakthrough, Ernakulam rural police have apprehended Jasir, 39, from Tirur, Malappuram, who had been evading arrest for 15 years in connection with an attempted murder case. The incident dates back to January 2009, when Jasir and his accomplice attacked a man named Muhammad, who was traveling on a scooter in Pezhakkappilly. Although eight suspects were involved, all but Jasir had been arrested previously. The investigation, led by Muvattupuzha DSP P M Baiju, finally culminated in his arrest.

In a separate operation on Friday, Muhammad Faiz, 34, was arrested in Aluva with approximately 2 kilograms of ganja. Faiz, residing in a rented house in Aluva, was caught by Thadiyittaparambu police during a raid, based on a tip-off. The police seized plastic bags containing the ganja hidden beneath the seat of his scooter as he arrived to sell it at Kizhakkambalam.

Both arrests have strengthened the ongoing efforts of Ernakulam police to combat serious crimes, including attempted murder and drug trafficking.
