Ja’Shaun Saunders-Case Arrested in Connection with 2024 Suffolk Homicide

Suffolk, VA — Ja’Shaun Saunders-Case, 22, has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting incident that took place in Suffolk in September 2024.

On September 9, 2024, Suffolk Emergency Communications received a call about a shooting in the 6100 block of Old Townpoint Road around 2 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene to find 24-year-old Alvin Brown Jr. with a gunshot wound to the chest. Suffolk Fire & Rescue quickly transported Brown to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

After an investigation, Ja’Shaun Saunders-Case was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless handling of a firearm.

The Suffolk Police Department continues to investigate the incident, and Saunders-Case remains in custody while awaiting further legal proceedings.
