Jamonte Johnson, Bertran Bell, and Eshon Dodson Charged in Robbery of Secret Service Agent

Three men, Jamonte Fitzgerald Johnson, Bertran Claude Bell, and Eshon Dwayne Dodson, are behind bars after allegedly robbing an off-duty Secret Service agent at gunpoint in Tustin, California. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on June 15 in the Tustin Legacy residential community.

Johnson reportedly exited a silver Infiniti FX35 and, armed with a gun, demanded the agent’s belongings. In response, the agent drew his service weapon and fired at another suspect, reportedly injuring him. Tustin Police have described the attack as a random act of violence rather than a targeted assault on the agent.

The investigation led authorities to identify Johnson, Bell, and Dodson as suspects. DNA evidence collected at the scene played a critical role in securing arrests. Johnson was arrested in Riverside on July 11, and Dodson was taken into custody in Watts on July 17. Bell, meanwhile, was apprehended in Los Angeles on July 24.

Johnson is facing charges of robbery and firearm possession as a felon, along with enhancements for gun use. Dodson also faces a robbery charge with firearm enhancement. Johnson and Bell are being held without bail, while Dodson’s bail is set at $1 million.
