A federal indictment unsealed on December 20 charges 48-year-old Philip Hall, a Jamestown pharmacist, with health care fraud and aggravated identity theft. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee revealed that Hall, the owner and operator of Hall Family Pharmacy Inc. with locations in Jamestown and Clarkrange, Tennessee, was involved in submitting false claims to Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and Blue Cross Blue Shield for prescriptions that were either medically unnecessary, not dispensed, or not ordered by a healthcare provider.
Hall, who served as the pharmacist-in-charge at the Jamestown location, submitted fraudulent claims for prescriptions worth over $6 million from 2018 to May 2024. Additionally, Hall allegedly used the identities of others to seek reimbursement for these fraudulent claims. The pharmacies involved lacked the inventory to fulfill many of the prescriptions listed in the claims.
The indictment alleges that Hall personally profited from the scheme, using the proceeds for his own benefit. Acting U.S. Attorney Thomas J. Jaworski emphasized the commitment to protecting taxpayer dollars and ensuring Medicare’s integrity.
Hall faces severe charges, and authorities have urged anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
