Pollocksville, NC – James Hathcock, 45, of New Jersey City, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 68 months in federal prison for distributing illegal drugs in Pollocksville, North Carolina. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina confirmed the sentence today.
In February 2023, law enforcement began investigating suspected drug activity on Nguyen Lane in Pollocksville. Between March and April 2023, seven controlled purchases were made where Hathcock sold cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl to a confidential source. Hathcock often met with his supplier, Robert Milton Green, to complete the transactions.
On April 20, 2023, search warrants were executed at both Hathcock’s and Green’s residences. Seized items included large quantities of crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, firearms, digital scales, and Narcan nasal spray.
Green, who was also arrested, was sentenced to 11 years in prison in October 2024. He was convicted of possessing substantial quantities of drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
Hathcock’s conviction highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in local communities.
