Jamal Royster, 2 Others Arrested in Charlotte Drug, Theft Bust

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) — Three people were arrested in Charlotte following a major drug and theft investigation that led to the seizure of more than 200 stolen power tools and large quantities of narcotics.

The arrests occurred on Saturday, April 5, after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers received a Crime Stoppers tip and pulled over a monitored vehicle. During the traffic stop, officers discovered a “large amount” of marijuana and fentanyl inside the car.

The investigation expanded quickly. With new evidence, police obtained a search warrant for a related property. A subsequent search revealed an extensive stash of illegal drugs and stolen goods, including:

Over 200 stolen power tools

Approximately 232 grams of pure fentanyl

2.66 pounds of marijuana

105 grams of methamphetamine

1.35 pounds of cocaine

32 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy)

325 oxycodone pills

One firearm

Police arrested three individuals in connection with the case:

Jamal Royster

Trafficking cocaine

Trafficking opium or heroin

Possession of a firearm by a felon

Possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana

Ricco Brown

Two counts of trafficking opium or heroin

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver MDMA and marijuana

Possession of cocaine

Corinne Cherry

Trafficking cocaine

Trafficking methamphetamine

Possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana

Authorities are continuing the investigation and say additional charges may be possible. The operation underscores the growing connection between stolen goods and illegal drug distribution in the region.
