Buffalo, NY – Two men, Jamaal Rice, 44, and Maxwell McCants, 61, were arrested this week following a warehouse theft in Buffalo on Dec. 29. The theft, which occurred at a warehouse on Dingens Street, resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars in merchandise, including a Chevrolet Silverado, 50 furnaces, and additional items like car keys and computers.
Upon arriving for work, a warehouse employee discovered the entrance door broken and the items missing. The stolen Silverado was allegedly used by Rice and McCants to make multiple trips to steal more goods. Investigators tracked the stolen vehicle to a residence on Smith Street, where the stolen furnaces were believed to have been stored for distribution. Three of the furnaces have since been recovered.
Rice and McCants were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing.
