In a major breakthrough against inter-state drug trafficking, Jalandhar Rural Police have successfully dismantled a well-organized narcotics supply chain operating between Bihar and Punjab. The operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of contraband and the arrest of four individuals, shedding light on a sophisticated trafficking network that utilized railway routes and employed women carriers to evade detection.
The arrested individuals include Pooja Kumari (24) and Babita Devi alias Babbo (29), both from Nawabganj, Purabtola, along with Arnav Kumar Jaiswal alias Lallan (24), a resident of village Kursheila, all hailing from Katihar district in Bihar. Additionally, Mohit Dhanda alias Mohit (24), from village Chuharwali in Punjab, was apprehended in a separate operation while in possession of heroin.
The trafficking network exploited strategic routes and was found to be using female carriers to transport drugs discreetly. Through meticulous planning, the criminals managed to operate under the radar until the police managed to disrupt their operations.
In this coordinated operation, police uncovered a vast network and have seized a significant amount of heroin, which was set to be distributed in Punjab and other neighboring regions.
