Jalandhar Police Arrest Ajit Singh with Heroin, Expose Drug Network

Jalandhar police made a significant drug bust after arresting Ajit Singh, alias Raju, for possessing five grams of heroin. Acting on a tip-off, officers were conducting checks near a bus stand when they saw a man, later identified as Ajit Singh, approaching while holding a black envelope. Upon noticing the police, Singh panicked, discarded the envelope, and attempted to flee. Police caught up with him and discovered the drugs.

Ajit Singh, a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Makhu Ferozepur, and currently residing in Amargarh Bashirpura, Jalandhar, works with Punjab Roadways. A case has been filed under Sections 21-61-85 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During questioning, Singh revealed that Deepak Sharma, a Punjab Roadways employee, and Keerat Singh, an inspector at Punjab Roadways Depot, Jalandhar-2, were also involved in the narcotics network.

The investigation is ongoing to track the full extent of the drug trafficking network. Police have pledged to continue their efforts against drug-related crimes in the region.
