The Crime Branch of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate arrested a notorious bike and mobile thief, Abhishek Sharma, along with Vikas Malchandaka, a buyer of the stolen items, on Wednesday. Sharma, a habitual offender residing in Johari Bazaar, has several vehicle theft cases registered against him.
According to the police, Sharma specifically targeted parked two-wheelers, focusing on those with mobile phones and purses in their storage compartments. He would conduct reconnaissance to identify suitable vehicles before committing the thefts.
During the operation, the police recovered five scooty bikes, two motorcycles, and seven high-end mobile phones from Sharma’s possession. Investigations revealed that Sharma had been involved in multiple vehicle-lifting cases in the past.
In a related action, the police arrested Vikas Malchandaka from Murlipura, who was purchasing stolen mobile phones from Sharma. Authorities suspect Malchandaka has been engaged in the illegal trade of stolen gadgets for an extended period.
