PEVELY, Mo. — Jacob Leroy West, 26, of Pevely, Missouri, has been charged with multiple felony thefts and fleeing police at high speeds after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of tools and merchandise from several Home Depot stores in the region.
West was arrested on May 29 and is currently held at Jefferson County Jail on a bond of $33,283.
Court records reveal West faces several charges including:
Resisting arrest by fleeing, a class E felony
Driving with a revoked license, a class D misdemeanor
Multiple counts of theft, including three class D felonies and one class E felony related to incidents from November 2024 through early 2025
The charges stem from multiple thefts across Home Depot stores in Arnold, Herculaneum, Wentzville, St. Peters, and Bridgeton. West allegedly stole power tools and other items valued at over $6,000.
According to reports, on January 14, West fled from a Herculaneum police officer attempting to pull him over for driving with a suspended license. West reportedly sped at 109 mph in a 45-mph zone and ran a red light to evade the stop.
Prior to the chase, West allegedly stole seven Milwaukee-brand tools worth $1,983 from a Home Depot in Arnold on January 9. Surveillance footage and previous bookings linked him to similar thefts, including a $1,090 theft from a Buchheit store in November 2024.
West also tried to steal nearly $2,300 worth of items from a Home Depot in Wentzville but was stopped by employees. However, he abandoned the merchandise and escaped.
Further incidents include thefts of $973 and more from Home Depot stores in St. Peters and Bridgeton, where police eventually arrested West after a vehicle stop and chase.
Investigators suspect West is responsible for over $6,000 in stolen goods from multiple stores since early 2024. If convicted, he faces prison time for the felony charges and fines for misdemeanors.
