Jacob Hille Arrested for Evansville Drive-By Shooting

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 22-year-old Jacob Hille in connection to a drive-by shooting that took place Friday morning, which also led to the discovery of over 300 grams of marijuana.

Authorities responded to a shots fired call in the 2000 block of Wyoming Avenue just before 9:30 a.m., where they found a bullet hole near the front door of a residence. The victim was home at the time, and witnesses reported seeing a white car leaving the area.

Police later located the white car registered to Hille near Woodbine Lane, where they also spotted a black car with an orange front fender leaving the scene. Hille was eventually found at the Timber’s Apartment Complex, getting into the black car, and was taken into custody.

During a court-ordered search, officers recovered a spent shell casing, multiple live rounds, a semi-automatic pistol, and several plastic bags containing 384 grams of marijuana. Officials say the shooting stemmed from a previous dispute over a drug deal between Hille and someone inside the targeted home.

Hille is now facing charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, and possession of marijuana. He is currently being held without bond.
