Jackeline Zamora-Sequeira Arrested for Stealing $20K in Jewelry

A woman has been arrested for stealing nearly $20,000 worth of jewelry while cleaning a home in Mooresville, North Carolina. Jackeline Sorayda Zamora-Sequeira, an undocumented immigrant from Nicaragua, is accused of taking the items in early August 2024.

Deputies responded to a robbery report on December 12, and after an investigation, they found two pieces of stolen jewelry valued at $17,449 in Zamora-Sequeira’s possession. She admitted to the theft while cleaning the victim’s home.

Zamora-Sequeira has been charged with felony larceny and is being held under the new North Carolina General Statute 162-62(b1), which requires verification of an individual’s legal presence in the U.S. when charged with a felony or impaired driving offense.

She is currently in the Iredell County Detention Center with a $15,000 secured bond, and the sheriff’s office has contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to verify her legal status.
