Jack Harrison Sentenced to Over 6 Years for Drug Offenses & Dangerous Driving

Jack Harrison, 28, of Gildersdale Drive, has been sentenced to six years and two months in prison after being convicted of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and dangerous driving. Additionally, Harrison was handed a four-year and eight-month driving ban by Manchester Crown Court.

Details of the Offense and Reckless Driving
The court was informed that Harrison had been driving a Black Audi at high speeds through the Blackley area on Victoria Avenue. Officers on patrol observed him and witnessed the vehicle swerving before Harrison lost control and crashed into a bollard. He attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended quickly by police.

Aggravating Factors in Sentencing
The judge took into account several aggravating factors during sentencing, including Harrison’s disqualification from driving at the time, his failure to wear a seatbelt, and his disregard for road safety. His reckless driving posed a serious risk to public safety, although fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

Law Enforcement’s Response
Police Constable Baylee Ninian of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) remarked, “Harrison’s actions were reckless, and he showed no consideration for other members of the public when driving his vehicle. Luckily, no one got hurt, and this sentence should reassure the community.”

PC Louis Gevaux, the arresting officer, also praised the efforts of the investigation team, stating, “Harrison was a menace to society and is now behind bars for a considerable amount of time.”
